Support Barge

This vessel was built specifically to support the Deepstar tourist submarine operations.

 A 60 foot tourist submarine would be lifted out of the water for servicing and loading of passengers.

 The lift has a 110 ton lifting weight capacity and is 15 feet wide and 62 feet long and is hydraulically powered by a 3116 Caterpillar diesel which also powers it’s two stern Schottel drives and it’s bow thruster.

This vessel could be put back to work (as designed) to support tourist submarine operations or could be used to lift underwater machinery in the industrial field, such as an underwater trencher or ROV system.

It could also be used as a floating dry-dock in remote locations.

She is part of a two-vessel package which includes the submarine .
