Csy 44 Walkover

The CSY 44 has undoubtedly established herself as one of the most revered fiberglass production “Classic Plastic” yachts since fiberglass boat building began. Their classic looks,  solid construction, deep V blue water hull with modified fin for great directional stability, combined with excellent ventilation and tremendous spaces throughout all areas offer her owner a boat that is very hard to better, especially for tropical cruising.

Shakti is one of a kind amongst her class, her current owner has done the most extensive refit I have ever seen performed on one of these boats. Her upgrades and renewals are almost too numerous to mention and what has not been done to this vessel would make for a short list! However to name a few key points in her complete renewal, the following should be noted; hull and deck refinished with Awlgrip, engine fully rebuilt, generator fully reconditioned, salon, aft cabin and fore cabin completely reworked with new cabinets, surfaces, upholstery and cabin sole to show as new, almost all deck level stainless steel renewed, new dodger, new bimini top, the list could go on and on.

However, most impressively, her interior has been redesigned with a modern aft facing nav station, including lots of fresh electronics, an expanded and rebuilt galley with new fridge and wine cooler, the salon seating modernized to include a beautiful L-shaped settee and ample cabinetry and shelving throughout, all impressively show cased by a new cabin sole, new upholstery and the use of lots of light laminates to give a tremendously open and airy feeling to the whole interior.

The pictures will give one a good idea of how different this boat is to her peers, however only a  personal viewing will truly impress on you how much work has been done to this fine vessel. There are still some minor cosmetics here and there for her next owner to work on should they wish, but in summary, this boat is ready to go cruising in style with the vast majority of her systems and cosmetics renewed to a level very rarely seen in boats of this stature!

Starting forward is the double V berth that has drawers under the bed and a hanging locker, including additional drawers, aft and to starboard. Opposite the hanging locker is the ensuite head to port. The head unit has the toilet forward, the hand basin outboard and can be accessed from the forward cabin. Aft of the head unit is a separate shower closet with bench seat outboard, this area is open to the head unit but can also be accessed from a second door aft, to allow access form the salon when desired.

Aft of the forward cabin in the main salon and to port is a beautiful L-shaped settee with a linear settee to starboard that can also act as a berth when required. There is a book shelf behind the settee to port and a cupboard aft of it. Forward of the linear settee is a closet that houses the air conditioning unit, which is fully enclosed. Behind the linear settee are two cupboards with a shelf above and an open shelved space between the cupboards. Most aft to port in the salon is the L shaped galley with stove most forward and outboard, the deep double sinks with plentiful counter space either side, are located aft. The galley has been completely rebuilt and includes custom built cabinets and work surfaces. Under the counter space and inboard is the side opening fridge/freezer. There are two cabinets above the fridge that house the microwave and the coffeemaker and additional storage outboard and to starboard, both above the work surface and below it. Opposite the galley to starboard and forward is a wine cooler with shelf storage above, this is followed by a completely new and custom nav station that comprises of an aft facing navigator’s seat with storage below and a closet and shelved storage outboard. The expansive chart table faces aft and incorporates a large monitor at the head of the table and the instrumentation and breaker panel inboard and outboard in this area.

The cabinets, trims, seating, sofas, floor, navigation station cupboards and lockers have all been replaced in 2011.

The aft cabin bed that is the full width of transom to offer a true king sized bed with drawers below the bed. The ensuite head is forward and to port with the sink basin most forward and the toilet aft, the shower area is inboard. To starboard and opposite the head is a loveseat with a shelf outboard and additional storage below the seat. The aft cabin lighting has been replaced in 2013.
