Hatteras 44 Motor Yacht

Belle O’ The Bay is a one-of-a-kind, custom, two state rooms, 44 foot flush deck motor yacht.  Most of its 66 Hatteras sister ships built between 1967 and 1972 were built as tri-cabins, with two single beds in a small master, plus two small bunk rooms.  Belle O’ The Bay has a large master suite with a Tempurpedic king size bed, a large settee which doubles as a full twin bed, a desk, three closets, dresser drawers, TV, and private head.  The guest cabin has two extra-long upper and lower arrangement twin beds, a full length closet, built-in dresser drawers, TV, and is adjacent to the second head.  Both staterooms and both heads have custom parquet wood floors and modern fixtures.  Easy to show....

With more room than most apartments and sleeping accommodations for 6, this is the perfect boat for live aboard, floating condo, cruising the great loop, or just swinging at anchor for a few days in a secluded cove.  This classic Hatteras motor yacht has been carefully restored and upgraded over the past 10 years by a retired Navy Captain and his wife while they lived aboard her and cruised the lower section of the Great Loop between St. Augustine, FL, the Florida Keys,  the Florida Panhandle, the Tenn-Tom waterway and the Tennessee River.  Now it’s time for someone else to enjoy this extraordinary, go anywhere, do anything motor yacht.

Belle O’ The Bay is a one-of-a-kind, custom, two state rooms, 44 foot flush deck motor yacht.  Most of its 66 Hatteras sister ships built between 1967 and 1972 were built as tri-cabins, with two single beds in a small master, plus two small bunkrooms. Both staterooms have top opening hatches plus port and starboard port holes.  The huge master stateroom and its head are aft of the salon and down 5 steps.  The guest stateroom and second head are located in the bow and are accessible from the galley.  The 2 staterooms are cooled and heated by a SMX digitally controlled Cruisair16,500 BTU reverse cycle air conditioner/heater.

The large aft deck is completely enclosed with custom canvas, new isinglass and new carpet.  It’s perfect for sunny breakfasts, afternoon happy hours, moonlight dinners or just relaxing in a breeze.  A ladder leads down to the large swim platform.  Port and starboard teak side doors with custom etched mermaid glass lead forward to the huge foredeck.  The lower helm is located amidships just forward of the aft deck in an all-weather, 360 degree view, pilot house with autopilot, GPS, radar, digital depth meter, VHF radio, and compass.  The fly bridge above the pilot house has remote control for the autopilot, a separate GPS, a separate VHF radio, compass, lots of seating, and a bimini top.  Waist high stainless steel and teak hand rails surround the main weather deck.

From the aft deck & pilot house, a teak door leads down 3 steps to a very large carpeted salon with custom furnishings (2 sofas <1 makes into a bed>, chair, coffee table, liquor cabinet, TV and stereo equipment), and new leatherette ceiling liner. Custom wood mini-blinds on the salon side windows and shear curtains on the forward windows provide wonderful natural light.  The ships service panel and generator digital controls are located in the salon.   The salon has a dedicated SMX digitally controlled Cruisair16,500 BTU reverse cycle air conditioner/heater.

Forward of the salon (and down 3 steps). The fully equipped galley, with full-size Maytag refrigerator/freezer, built-in microwave, three-burner glass top stove with oven, a coffee maker, granite countertops, granite backsplash, large stainless steel sink, lots of cabinet space, and custom parquet floors.  The guest stateroom is located forward of the galley and the guest head is located to port.

The engine & mechanical equipment room is located amidships below the salon and is accessible from the galley. Located here are the two Detroit Diesel 8V71N main engines, a new Kohler 11.5 KW generator in its own sound enclosure, 12 gallon hot water heater, fresh water pump & accumulator, air conditioner compressors, four 8D batteries for the engines and ships service, and CO2 fire suppression system.  The Racor fuel filters for the main engines and generator are easily accessible, as are the new Reverso oil change system, steering hydraulics, and fuel tank selector switches (which allow the main engines to draw from the port, starboard or center fuel tanks).  Two spare props are stored in the engine & mechanical equipment room.

The salon, staterooms and galley have beautiful teak paneling, while both heads are tastefully wall papered.  All interior living spaces have 110v and 12v lighting.
