Classic lines, rugged consturction, an easily handled ketch rig combined with centerboard, capabilities make ZABERDAST III well qualified to cruise the worlds oceans or gunkhole its bays. A very handsome sailing vessel constructed to ABS certification.  Two stateroom, two head layout offers privacy and almost equal accommodations for two couples. Below a roomy salon, finished in varnished cherry, parallels a spacious cockpit topsides providing uncrowded space for large social gatherings. Equipped and continually upgraded. A short list of notable features include; bow thruster, power winches, power windlass, Hood furling sails system, hydralic jib furling, A/C and full electronics. The only Alden 54' offered in today's market.

The present owner has sailed the boat for ten years. In 2006 no expense was spared re-powering and refitting many of her mechanical systems. Waterway friendly and ready to explore the oceans and beyond.

 A sail locker and storage area located in the bow is accessed through a large hatch. Immediately forward of this locker is the 3500 Maxwell electric windlass with deck foot switches. Separating this locker from the guest cabin is a composite watertight bulkhead.

Comfortable accomodations for four in two private staterooms -  forward most is a full- width head with separate stall shower finished in white formica for easy maintenance.

Following is the guest stateroom with a pullman double berth to starboard. Storage beneath and to port are drawers and a cedar lined hanging locker compliment the cabin. A privacy door separates this cabin from the salon.

Continuing aft to the large main salon; A U-shaped dinette is to starboard with storage beneath and outboard above. A centerline dining table, settee to port with drawers beneath and entertainment center above compliment the salon.

The forward facing navigation station is located to port, aft of the settee, with storage below and aft. All navigation electronics, radar and ships radio's are located at the nav station. Across to starboard and next to the companionway is the U-shaped galley.

A passageway leads aft of the nav station to the Master Stateroom, with separate head compartment to port and enclosed shower stall ensuite to starboard. Ample hanging lockers and drawers for personal clothing and linens are abound in this stateroom.

All accomodations are luxuriously appointed with oscillating fans in cabins, heat and airconditioning throughout. Well lit and ventilated, the interior is varnished cherry with the overhead in white, Herreshoff style. The teak and holly sole is finished bright.
