Hatteras Lrc

“TURTLE IV” was the very beginning of the Hatteras Long Range Cruiser legacy. As the showcase boat for two years, TURTLE IV toured the country showing off what the legendary Trans-Atlantic LRC would soon become. In absolutely perfect condition and as the Hatteras Demo Boat, TURTLE IV has many upgrades and attention to detail that no other LRC was equipped with. The African hardwood Sapele and Teak trim throughout the vessel is like no other!

Equipped with twin Detroit Diesels 4-71N motors with approximately 4000 hours, she will burn about 6 gallons an hour at 8 Knots for a range of 3,000 miles. With that kind of range, you are able to travel to Maine and Back to Florida without refueling.

Recent Maintenance and upgrades include: New bottom paint (12/2013), new upholstery and curtains throughout

(2013), complete new galley (2013), (2) New Phasor 15kW Generators (2013), New 30 gallon hot water heater (2013), two new battery banks (2015) and washer and dryer (2012).

If you are in the market for the king of Long Range Cruisers, then you owe it to yourself to make an appointment and see the Turtle for yourself.  She is an amazing vessel and the one that started it all.

Starting at the swim platform and a few steps up takes you to the cockpit, which offers a nonskid deck, transom door and washdown connection. Up another couple of steps takes you to the inviting and spacious aft deck. The aft deck is enclosed with Isinglass making this a great all-weather living area. There is a very comfortable bench seat and table, storage chest, director chairs and custom turtle sculpture. This huge area is where life onboard centers.

The spacious salon offers a day head and storage locker starboard forward, the open galley port forward, L-shaped seating starboard aft and a very large dinette between the galley and master stateroom stairs on port. This area is fully carpeted and has large sliding windows for loads of natural light and ventilation. Port aft and down a winding staircase will take you to the master stateroom.

The full beam master stateroom aft includes a double berth to starboard and a single berth to port. In between the two berths is a mirrored dressing table that you would only see at home. It has plenty of storage under berths and in cabinetry, a walk-in closet and equipped with its own ensuite head and shower with full size tub. With separate access from the salon, this stateroom has maximum privacy and it is quite large, open and airy.

Forward of the salon is the completely updated U-shaped galley equipped with marble glass tile and more than you will need for a complete gourmet meal and has all new appliances including a dishwasher. Continuing forward through the galley will take you to the Portuguese bridge pilot house. The pilothouse on TURTLE IV offers a full console forward, large bench seat aft and side deck access doors on each side. There are stairs to the flybridge on starboard and stairs down to the forward guest staterooms and engine room starboard forward.

Up the custom teak stairs is the huge flybridge and offers a full console forward, three helm seats, L-shaped seating port and starboard aft and dining table in the middle. Aft of the flybridge is the tender and davit.

Down the steps from the pilothouse and forward will take you to the forward guest stateroom that offer a v-berth sleeping arrangement, ensuite head and shower, hanging locker, storage cabinetry, carpet, portlights and overhead deck hatch for plenty of natural light and ventilation. Aft and to port is the VIP stateroom with twin beds, plenty of storage also with its own ensuite head and shower.

Heading to starboard and aft will take you down a companionway equipped with two sub-zero freezers, a vented washer and dryer combination and plenty of storage.  Through a watertight door is the massive engine room that hold the twin 4-71 motors, two new Phasor 15kW generators, battery banks, a new 30 gallon hot water heater and the 5 AC units that have a new Y-valve manifold to cut off AC to any portion of the ship where it is not needed.
