Stephens Raised Deck Cruiser - Beautiful Classic

CIELITO presents an opportunity to own a beautiful classic Stephens Raised Deck Cruiser with safe and reliable twin Perkins Diesel engines. Under the same loving care of her current owners for the past 25 years she has been meticulously maintained to the highest standards. Berthed in a coveted transferable San Francisco Bay covered berth she has been protected from the elements and it shows.

CIELITO was delivered on 9/13/30 to her first owner, Hollywood film director William Seiter and his wife, silent film star Laura La Plante. The purchase price was $12,420. Less than a year later, Seiter and La Plante were divorced and Cielito was sold to Wesley D. Smith, the owner of Sea Dog Hardware. Her current owners purchased  CIELITO in 1988 and re-powered her with Perkins Diesel engines. At that time they also added a Northern Lights Generator. Other major work included all new teak decks, an aft cockpit top, complete rewiring, new tankage systems, and reconfiguration of the forward head in order to accommodate a stall shower.

In 1997 her owners took CIELITO to the Pacific Northwest and cruised the Inland Passage for 3 months. The end of that journey found them in Victoria, BC in early September, where they were selected “Best Power Yacht” at the Victoria Boat Show.

In May 1999 CIELITO was trucked to Lake Michigan, where she commenced a one year “Great Loop” circumnavigation of the Eastern US.  Her trip took her from Lake Michigan and Georgian Bay to the Trent Severn Waterway, thereby avoiding the rough waters of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.  In August CIELITO was awarded “Best Power Boat” at the ACBS Clayton Boat Show. She then proceeded out the St. Lawrence River, down the Chambly Canal to Lake Champlain and thence the Hudson River and Inter Coastal Waterway to Florida, where she wintered before returning via the river systems up to Chicago and Lake Michigan.
