  COMMENTS:  History and presentation:

                        Grand Shpountz Escapade is the fruit of a

                        shipwright who built this boat for its own

                        account. First launched in 1976. Sold to the

                        current owners in 1992 to sail in Greece and

                        Turkey mainly. The specific feature of this boat is

                        original copper lining on all underwater area.

                        The boat is out of water since 1992 about eight

                        months every year. When not sailing many

                        maintenance work is carried out. The second and

                        last owner is an engineer who turned the boat to

                        able to navigate easily together without effort.

                        For this purpose the original rig square sail was

                        transformed into classic rig. The boat is offered

                        for sale on condition "as is as where is".

                       

                        Hull:

                        Was made from Iroko slats 40 x 40 glulam,

                        covered with two mahogany folds each 3mm

                        laminated and bolted . In 1978 the underwater

                        area covered with bright copper lined 3/10ths.

                        In 2001 layers of Mahogany double fold were

                        replaced completely and laminated completely.

                        The protection was achieved even under the first

                        two rows of copper panels that were filed then

                        reclouιes copper. Transom redone in 2003. . The

                        side windows were dismantled and removed.

                        Today the hull and deck are in good condition

                        and show no damage apparent.

                       

                        The superstructure was completely renovated in

                        1991 3 ply iroko crossed glued with epoxy. The

                        front deck was completely renovated   and epoxy

                        laminated. The deck and superstructure is in

                        good condition throughout and has no apparent

                        damage. Sealing tests were performed with a

                        sprinkler, no apparent leaks.

                        Repaint of the masts in recommended .

                        The standing rigging (Stainless steel) is in very

                        good condition.

                       

                        Deck hatches - deck fittings:

                        The fittings are antiques, simple and in good

                        condition. Many other pulleys and parts are

                        available in spare parts. Fittings and

                        disassembled and perfectly stored state.

                       

                        Electricity - Electronics:

                        All electronics must be inspected (serviced or replaced).

                        The electric system must be inspected-renovated

                        completely (new electrical panel included).

                        Plumbing is Ok. Valves - thru-hull fittings are in

                        good condition.

                       

                        Accommodation:

                        1 double owner's cabin, 1 guest double cabin, 1

                        quest cabin with upper and lower berths, 1

                        berth in the saloon.

                        2 Heads- showers.

                        Varnishes in all interior must be redone.
