This 1956 antique classic wooden Motor Ketch is a unique vessel with a very interesting history. She is offered for sale and is priced to attract the discerning buyer who will appreciate her unique qualities.

Soleil D'or is powered by a raw water cooled Gardner 4LW 56hp diesel engine through a shaft drive to fixed 3 bladed bronze propellor. The engine alternator charges the two 12V batteries.

Construction:
Soleil D'or was designed pre war by  Pape & Curtis as a gentleman's motor yacht for Tresco in the Scilly Isles and was built in Looe in 1956.
The hull, deck and superstructure are constructed in wood and has a main mast and mizzen mast to fly streadying sails.
Long keel with wheel steering.

Rigging and Sails:
She is ketch rigged, stainless steel standing rigging, with a foresail, loose footed main and mizzen used as steadying sails when under power.

Ground Tackle:
35lb CQR with chain.

Tankage:
200 litre capacity fuel tanks.
200 litre water tank.
