Privilege 39

The Privilege 39 has earned the reputation for being one of the most solid cats built, making her particularly well suited to serious cruising if desired. She was one of the very first cats to go into service doing bareboat charter in the BVI. Purchased by her second and current owner in the late 90’s, she has been used in more recent years as a successful Captained day charter cat.

Although light on working electronics and recent sails, the owner is a very knowledgeable, hands-on yachtsman who has looked after the majority of the important systems well, including implementing major overhauls of both engines in recent years, replacement of batteries recently and upgrades to her galley, as well as having kept on top of all the essential systems. Her woodwork also looks good in the vast majority of areas with some work still ongoing to tidy up a couple of remaining blemishes.

The owner has now stopped chartering, having bought a trawler for his retirement, so has priced her aggressively for a timely sale. The buyer looking for a cat near 40’ that is robust and well found, with nicely maintained and operating engines, should  seriously consider her as we feel she offers much better value that the majority of cats that are priced in this range. Her viewing is therefore highly recommended.

(4 Cabin / 4 Head)

Starting forward, both port and starboard cabins are mirror images. In each forward cabin, most forward, outboard is a hanging locker. The queen sized athwartship berth is inboard and all berths are accessed by a short ladder.  Forward of each cabin is the ensuite head and shower unit. Aft of the cupboard in the cabin is a custom ceramic hand basin set in a large surface, with cupboards below and mirrored cupboards above.

Further aft of the port forward cabin in the hallway is the linear galley with the sinks followed by the stove outboard and the fridge/freezer unit inboard.  There are cupboards aft of the fridge and below the fridge and sinks with two large work surfaces aft and inboard.  The forward portion of the starboard hull hallway has multiple storage cupboards outboard, offering unrivaled storage space. Inboard is a large side opening freezer box, this still has the original engine driven hold over plate, which is not in service but most likely could be brought back to working order if some components were to be replaced.

Most aft are the mirrored port and starboard aft cabins, each with athwartship queen sized berths most aft.  Outboard is a custom ceramic hand basin set in a large surface, with cupboards below and mirrored cupboards above. Forward of each aft cabin and opposite the hull steps and outboard is each aft head and shower unit, with a door allowing accessibility from outside of the aft cabins

Above in the main salon area, there is a C shaped dining area surrounding the dining table.  The forward facing navigation station is to starboard with an extra pedestal seat. The stereo is mounted to port of the dining area for easy access.
