Aqua-Star Ocean Ranger 38

This is one of the finest examples of an Aqua-Star 38 having been refurbished with no expense spared.

Works undertaken 2014 

Steering  table overhaul, steering leak fixed.

Lazarette hydraulic pump overhaul

Trim tabs – replaced pump, all 4 hydraulic rams and pipework.

Heads inlet/outlet skin fittings and pipework replaced.

Electric toilet serviced

Water system – tanks cleaned, majority of pipework replaced and rest decontaminated.

Shower waste pump overhauled.

Bilge pumps overhauled x4, new keel bilge pump fitted.

Lazarette cleaned out and repainted.

Bow thruster overhauled.

Bow thruster batteries replaced.

Engines renovated to high standard – degreased, repainted.

All hydraulic pipework to engines replaced.

Drainage system installed for engine oil sump and gear box oil replacement.

Gearbox pressure senders and manifold replaced.

General inspection and replacement of any loose/worn sender connections.

Bulkhead insulation stripped and replaced in engine bay.

Extra 240v sockets installed main saloon.

 

Beaching legs stripped and renovated with 6coats international paint

Sacrificial stainless feet plates fitted to legs

Teak decks cleaned and restored.

Gelcoat compound/polished

Teak rubbing strakes sanded and 8 coats varnish applied and resealed to hull.

Antifoul – 2 coats micron extra + Feb 2014.

New bathing platform ladder fitted.

New fenders/warps.

New mattress for top bunk installed.

New Seago offshore 6man canister liferaft 2014.

New Raymarine chirp sender fitted (awaiting new A12 or similar – not fitted)

Bridge GPS repeater and radar unit replaced direct from Raymarine June 2014.

The Aqua-Star Oceanranger 38 MK2, at 38-feet even, has a 12-foot, 7-inch beam, and a 3-foot, 3-inch draft. Aqua-Star have been building World Class boats for over 25 years, they are among the most spacious available in the size range with speeds up to 28 knots. The Aqua-Star hull form has proven to be efficient with 25-percent-plus fuel saving compared to other hulls. Aqua-Star boats are moulded for many Government Departments, such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Trinity House etc.
