She was originally commissioned by a knowledgable yachtsman who envisioned a supremely comfortable voyaging yacht with a practical layout, that can easily be handled by a cruising couple. He had Pacific Mermaid (ex-Amnesia II) built to exceed standard specifications, and she is heavily built for world cruising. They have since moved on to larger vessel.

The current owner, another highly experienced yacht owner, uses Pacific Mermaid as a platform perfectly suited for casually entertaining friends and clients, in addition of course, to wonderfully comfortable local cruising.
