Mcalpine Classic Motor Yacht

50-ft 1953 Restored Classic Wheelhouse Cabin Cruiser. Open to any and all offers.

Definitely not a ‘Cookie Cutter’; but full of individual character, this is a head-turning custom built traditional yacht from the historical MacAlpine & Son Boatyard in Shelburne, Nova Scotia in 1953. The present owner has completed a 25-year systematic restoration program that focused on a complete ‘Stem to Stern’ structural refurbishment of all Ribs and Planks, including rebuild of the Transom; while using it as a 100% reliable family cruising vessel each season on Lake Ontario. Since it was built, the vessel was re-engined with twin Lehman Diesels in 1960’s,  a large glassed-in Wheelhouse with Flybridge and 2nd Helm and a complete separate ‘commercial’ stainless steel galley in the 1970’s. Under the present ownership, in addition to extensive maintenance, the following upgrades were completed:

  • Extended side decks with Mahogany Handrails
  • Complete Main Salon; Mahogany Settee, Dinette, Bar, Capt.’s Desk and electric Fireplace.
  • Large, 60-gal SS 316L Holding Tank
  • 240L cap Fresh Water Tanks
  • ‘Blue Sea’ AC and DC Electric Panels with 3-Bank Charger.
  • Additional Galley and Fwd Head Cabinetry

All work conducted by the present owner that now totals an investment of over $400,000 in 2014 CAD was conducted with the highest standards of marine materials and workmanship and is completely verifiable in annual records in the form of Boatyard and Cruising Logs, Drawings & Sketches, Costs, Receipts, and Pictures. The condition and history of all structural components are known. This vessel features the ultimate in traditional nautical ambience for entertainment and relaxing in both the Wheelhouse (with Bar BQ) and Main Salon, with a complete ‘full-service’ separate galley, two heads (one with shower), 3 separate sleeping cabins with two bunks/beds in each, plus two in the convertible Main Salon Settee. After 25 years of boating pleasure the present owner is now anxious to sell and will entertain any and all reasonable offers by interested parties.
