Mid Coast Yachts is proud to offer this rare and unique vessel. She is a reproduction of the famous Shady Side Maryland, Bateau. The orginal design of these vessels started in this area on the West River in 1904 by Captain Perry Rodger.The owner has a rich family heritage in this area and many of these vessels were built by his family. Using old family photographs, construction began in 2007 at his home on the shore of the West River in Galesville, Maryland..

The owner used the finest material availble in the country, Douglas fir, Cypress, Red Oak while using modern epoxies and fasteners.

The owner has won numerous awards from the Maryland Antique Classic Boat Society for his construction techniques and has given numorous lectures about the construction of this vessel and his family heritage.

She is powered by a 45 HP Perkins Diesel and cruises using very little fuel, at approximately 8-10 knots.

This is a rare opportunity to own a reproduction of a classic vessel for crusing on the rivers or on the Chesapeake Bay.
