WAIANIWA was built by a couple who spared no expense in creating the best possible yacht to safely and easily sail anywhere in the world in complete luxury. She is a true pilothouse design and is equipped with the best electrical, mechanical and sail handling equipment to complete her mission. The 51,000 man hours dedicated to her construction are evident when looking at the attention to detail throughout.

Her unique layout -- with her live-in pilothouse, ideal for entertaining guests and/or shorthanded sailing -- cannot be found in any other yacht of this size. The original owners completed a two-year circumnavigation, and her second (current) owners have, since 2002, sailed her everywhere from 51 North to 51 South, “living the dream.”  She has never been chartered and has been continuously upgraded and maintained to high standards. WAIANIWA sleeps six in three private cabins, plus one in the pilothouse.  Her fine New Zealand craftsmanship is evident throughout, with her solid American cherry raised-panel joiner work and Huon pine floors. Her solid white raised-panel bulkheads, painted white hull ceiling and white fabric overhead - combined with numerous hatches, opening portholes and windows - provide a light, airy feel.
