Beneteau Oceanis 461- Two Stateroom - Very Clean

LIGHT DAWNS is a beautiful example of this fast and accommodating Bruce Farr Beneteau cruiser. The Beneteau 461 was awarded BEST BOAT OF THE YEAR honors in 1997 and shares a hull form from the very successful Bruce Farr First 45s5 but with a more manageable cruising rig.  Known to be an excellent performance cruiser, Light Dawns has been lightly used.    Never south, this boat has sailed New England and in two of the last three summers has remained hauled and decommissioned due to the owners's schedule.  Light Dawns is in the water now and fully commissioned.

Light Dawns has the Two Stateroom/two head layout which locates the galley in aft stbd corner, connected to the main salon but out of the way.  The interior spaces are large and include a center-island berth and en suite head in the master stateroom, and extra large main salon with convertible dinette, sit-down nav station, second head aft conveniently located close to the companionway, and an oversized double aft stateroom.  Berths come with custom fitted bedding and linens.  The galley includes both top and front load freezer/refrigerator, three burner propane stove with oven and broiler, microwave oven, and lots of counter and storage space for meal prep.

Well equipped, she has a stainless steel radar arch over the transom which integrates dinghy haul-out tackles, a wind generator, a solar panel, and the radar scanner.   The wind gen and solar panel couple to maintain battery charge even when cruising off the dock for extended periods.

Light Dawns is easily sailed short-handed with all sail controls led back to the cockpit and controlled by an electric winch.  She is outfitted with in-mast furling, roller furling genoa, and a cruising spinnaker with carbon fiber pole.   A full electronics suite includes GPS-chartplotter, radar, autopilot, VHF radio with command mic at the helm, sailing instruments and stereo.

The Seller has reduced the price to a very competitive level and wants his 461 to be the next boat sold.  This is a compelling value.   Please call today for additional details and a chance to view this highly recommended cruiser.

Light Dawns offers a large volume, live-able interior with the desirable two double berth stateroom layout which includes a convertible berth in the salon and two heads. The Master Cabin is forward and has a center-island berth. Shelves run the length of the varnished hull ceiling strips.  There is a large hanging locker to port and additional lockers, bins, and drawers provide ample storage. There is direct access to the forward head and shower. Two dressing benches, overhead hatches, and hull ports make this space bright and airy and inviting.  The Main Salon features a very large, U-shaped starboard settee with centerline bench which surround a table large enough to sit eight for dinner.  In addition, there is a long settee opposite to port with an aft-facing navigation station at the end.  At the forward end of the port settee is an extra large storage cabinet.  Storage is found in this cabinet, in lockers outboard to port and stbd, and under the settees including the center bench.  Aft of the main salon to port is a day head with shower with access from the main salon and privately from the Aft Stateroom. This cabin includes a very large double bed, two opening portlights, an overhead opening hatch and a fixed hull light which combine to make the space feel light and comfortable.  The Galley is located aft to starboard and is conveniently close to the companionway and open to the main salon without being in the way. Fully equipped for meal prep and entertaining with front loading refrigerator, top loading freezer, three burner propane stove with oven and broiler, microwave, double polished stainless steel sink, pull-out metal bin storage, large dry storage bin, outboard lockers, a waste bin accessible through counter, and lots of counter space.

The interior is finished beautifully in varnished teak and the sole is varnished teak with black striping. The many overhead hatches, hull ports, opening portlights, and 6'5" headroom give a sense of light and spaciousness. This is not a typical sailboat cave.
