Hansa Macintosh 47 - Bespreekbaar

The Hansa Macintosh 47 was designed by the renowned American yacht designer Tim Kings. He cooperated with Ron Holland in the development of IOR racingyeachts and Kiwiboats. The Macintosh 47 is built in Hong Kong under Hansa supervision. The marketing was aimed at the USA market.

The decks are flush with a low profile superstructure. The cockpit is placed a bit raised and forwardly and might be called centre cockpit. Anyways, it offers good shelter at sea and is a safe place high above the water. The decks are wide and the passage to the foredeck is free. Much of the deck hardware is mounted recessed thus free of obstacles. Just after the cockpit is a box, designed to contain the life raft. It also is a helpful step- up when reefing the mainland offers a nice backrest when sun bathing on the aft deck. At the stern is a integrated swim platform, complete with shower. 

The interior has nice teak and white panels. The salon has a nice settee in the middle and a lot of bookshelves, cupboards and even a minibar. Lots of lift enter here through the many windows, hatches and prismas. The galley to starboard has all modern equipment such as a microwave and a double door fridge. Left to the stairs is the charttable where the navigator finds a comfortable workspace, even under tougher conditions. 

In the bow is a guest cabin with separate head. The owners cabin can be reached through both passages along the central engine room. This cabin has a full-size bed with Neptune mattresses and a comfortable settee with lots of privacy. In the entire boat one finds lots of storage space.

This Macintosh 47 is a quality yacht and those sailors accustomed to Dutch and Scandinavian yachts will be pleasantly surprised by the many practical solutions and nice finish. Interested?
