Beals Island Lobster - Island Commuter - Classic Maine Lobster Boat

Built at the famous Beal's Island Shipyard in Maine in 1951, and in 2003 rebuilt completely while preserving the original lines and character by the well known designer and builder D.N. Hyland in Maine. This classic design has beautiful sweeping sheerlines, a fine entry, an efficient below water design and a workboat's dry stack exhaust.  The rebuild installed expanded fuel tanks and a new Yanmar diesel inside an easily removed engine cover.  The large working cockpit is well suited for fishing, or use the heavy duty electric bronze pot puller for hauling crab pots.

Beautifully restored and maintained, this timeless classic will not only turn heads, but will make a perfect crabbing and fishing platform, as well as an island commuter or sunset cruiser.

Originally designed and built by Alvin Beal, of Beals Island Shipyard, in Biddleford, Maine, in 1951.

Cedar carvel planking over locust steam bent frames.

Bronze screw fastened, timbers are bronze bolted.

White Oak backbone.

Angelique floor.
