Seabright Skiff Built By Northriver Boatworks

This Seabright Skiff is a lovely launch powered with a Yanmar diesel. She is in excellent condition having been meticulously cared-for by her knowledgeable owner.

The builder, Howard Mittleman, of Northriver Boatworks commented that the plans for her came from Mystic Seaport for a Charlie Hankins pound net boat, designed 20' x 6' 9". He expanded her to 22' x 7". Construction is cedar and cypress on oak. The lapstrake topsides are cedar; below the water line and the "box keel" typical of the Seabright skiffs is cypress. The transom and much of the trim are Phillipine mahogany. The sheer strakes are Spanish Cedar. The box keel is a feature that is one of the unique characteristics of the Seabright skiffs and comes from it's heritage as a fishing boat launched and retrieved through the surf.

The cockpit offers ample seating with bench seats and the engine hatch, both covered with comfortable green canvas cushions. There is a cutty cabin forward with cushions as well offering ample storage and cozy sleeping accommodations for two. She has tiller steering and handles very well at a comfortable 8 knot cruise. She also offers a canvas dodger to protect from the weather. She is very unique and turns heads in every harbor!

We have a slip available in Westerly, RI on the Pawcatuck River for an owner wishing to keep her in this area. Please note that there is no sales tax if purchased and kept in the state of Rhode Island.
