Jongert Motoryacht With 2014 Naiad Zero Speed Stabilizers

GRAND CRU is a 1987/2012/2014 custom, one-of-a-kind, transatlantic motoryacht. It is for the yachtsman that demands the finest.  She is available at a very attractive price; replacement cost would be approx. $8,000,000.

GRAND CRU represents a rare opportunity to purchase a world class and world capable yacht of fantastic comfort and pedigree. She was originally launched at Jongert in 1988 at 71’ and then returned to Jongert in 1995 where the original designer added a larger more comfortable aft deck and new European style transom extension, bringing the yacht to 78’, giving her a much greater cruising range with her additional fuel capacity. Proving herself like few other yachts of her size can, GRAND CRU made several transatlantic crossings on her own bottom; approx. 100,000+ nautical miles.

Her knowledgeable owners have made many fantastic upgrades and gone to great lengths to ensure all of her systems are in top working order; going through the ship from stem to stern servicing and upgrading. With her New 2014 total paint job, including hull, topsides and bottom, she looks 'As New'. With her new Naiad Zero speed stabilization system she is more stable and comfortable than one can imagine and the Zero speed feature allows you to anchor anywhere in total comfort.

GRAND CRU has a complete set of build plans on a single CD.

PRICE JUST REDUCED by $200,000.  NOW ASKING $1,795,000.

GRAND CRU is an incredible ship. Everywhere you look, you will be amazed at the quality of her build. The engines are Caterpillar work engines, not typical yacht engines. The generators are commercial equipment, they run at 1200 RPM, not 1800 RPM as the new units due now. Everywhere you look thought the yacht she has massive stainless fittings and you can easily see the quality built into the entire vessel.

The master stateroom with ensuite head is amazing. The master bath is huge with Jacuzzi tub, dual sinks and large shower, being aft and totally private. The shafts are sealed in oil and then cooled by sea water, which is an amazing feature. Almost all boats have shafts that are cooled by sea water. Chances are you have never seen an oil cooled shaft. This is “big ship stuff”. The advantage is complete quiet and no salt water damage to the shaft. Her current owners have slept in the master stateroom many times while running, and say they could've been staying in the “Four Seasons”. The naval architect that oversaw the current owners refit stated that these are normally only found on megayachts. Full real walkaround decks, oversized anchors and windlass, flybridge with comfortable seating throughout and room enough for any party.

It’s impossible to turn off the generators at anchor on most other Yachts of this size due to the power demand for household type appliances and poor ventilation. This is one of the few ships of this size that can be a “Dead Ship”. A term often used when anchoring out with all 110/220V power off; windows, hatches, doors, and ports open for ventilation. The ship has a massive battery room with 9 new batteries that weigh approx. 450 pounds each. With the use of the large inverter system and huge battery bank, the SubZero refrigeration/freezer and other systems allow everything to keep proper temperature for longer periods of time. All the staterooms have great ventilation with hatches, screens and dorades for fresh air. The salon and pilothouse areas have opening windows and screen doors. The screen doors are a work of art. Important to note that because she was originally built for an American owner, she is a 60 cycle boat.

Just one small example of the fine quality: the (8) deck chairs, the (4) arm chairs and the (2) Commodore Steamers on the aft deck are made by Barlow Tyrie. These are the finest English teak chairs (all chairs refinished).

GRAND CRU received a total paint job of her hull, topsides and bottom in April 2014.
