The Grand Banks Alaskan  is an all wood, twin diesel, sea-going motor yacht of traditional sawn frame and carvel plank construction. She has a single level deck house with a raised pilothouse forward. Abaft the pilothouse there is a full boat deck that extends well aft and covering the after weather deck. The main saloon and galley are on the main deck level with accommodation spaces on the deck level below. The pilothouse is fitted with port & starboard wing doors to the weather decks.
