Island Packet 38

One of the Best and Newest Examples of the

Very Popular Island Packet 38 - Don't Miss This One!

This proven blue-water cruiser is fully-equipped and ready to cast off.  She is hull number 182/188 of the popular IP38 series hulls making her one of the NEWEST IP38's on the market! PASHKA is a rare IP38 with a furling-boom and fully-roached and battened mainsail enabling a short-handed crew to safely operate all the sails from inside the cockpit, particularly with the help of her Electric Winch.  She is captain-maintained in Bristol Condition, with Petit Trinidad 75 high-copper anti-fouling paint (2013), Sikkens Cetol Light brightwork treatment (2014), and regular compounding and waxing (2104).

In 1994 the IP40, with the same 41’6” LOA, was introduced to replace the IP38. The various models of Island Packet Yachts represent the largest percentage of boats selected by members of the  Seven Seas Cruising Association as they boast blue water cruising abilities, live-aboard comfort, and superior sea-worthiness characterized by their solid-fiberglass full-keel hull and 165-degree righting moment. PASHKA was constructed in Florida and has spent her cruising life in Florida, Texas, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Florida Keys.

PASHKA is a beautifully-maintained example of the model with glistening brightwork, gleaming fiberglass, and spotless stainless steel. She has a full dodger and Bimini top with full standup room beneath; canvas covers for her dinghy, outboard motor, binnacle, windlass, winches, and hatches, as well as weather screen sides for the Bimini to shelter her cockpit from sun and spray. She has full insect screens below, custom Starboard companionway doors, and a custom Starboard folding cockpit table.

See video link for the boat under sail.

The IP38 has a main saloon, galley, two staterooms, and two heads. The owner's suite is forward with a large Pullman berth to starboard, starboard bulkhead book cases, and port dresser and hanging locker.  There is a private master head and shower in the bow. Forward of the head is the anchor locker, accessed through double doors. The owner's suite features excellent Dorade ventilation, a ventilating hatch, two DC bunk fans, led courtesy and reading lights, storage bins, drawers, and additional storage beneath the custom-made full mattress.

Aft is the spacious main saloon with a fold-up table on the forward bulkhead, and an interior speaker system. An L-shaped settee to starboard pulls out to make a double berth. The port and starboard settees each have a lee cloth, allowing them to be used as sea berths underway.  Each settee has a dc bunk fan. Aft is a navigation desk with red led chart light and an instrument panel containing an entertainment system, vhf radio, ssb radio, AIS control, solar panel controller, wind generator switch, Xantrex battery monitor system, AC/DC electrical panel, water tank gauge, man overboard alarm, and wifi booster antenna with router.

To port is a settee and cedar-lined hanging locker. Beneath the port settee is the 16,000 Btu Cruisair air conditioner, the 600 Ah house battery bank, and the 30 gallon waste tank with key-operated macerator. Behind the settee cushions on both sides are compartments offering generous storage.

The aft head boasts an electrically-operated toilet, seat, fluorescent makeup light, and a handheld shower. The after head is accessible from both the saloon and privately from the aft cabin.

To starboard of the companionway is the large galley with 3-burner propane stove with oven, double stainless steel sinks, divided refrigerator/freezer with remote thermometers, electronic refer control panel, dc fan, and heavily-insulated refer lid with cutting board.

To port of the companionway is the entrance to the aft cabin featuring an extra-large berth, dc bunk fan, reading lights, cabinets, drawers and cedar-lined hanging locker, with storage below the bunk.

The engine, located under the companionway, is insulated with ¾” foil-backed fiberglass and is easily accessible from all three sides.  It has an interior light, a fire port, and an electric oil change system.

(Decor items including aft berth bedding are not included with the sale)
