The recess in the superstructure on the foredeck built to store the tender becomes a 4m Jacuzzi to be filled with sea or fresh water.

Refit 2008/2009 in UK

 

The vessel underwent a major engineering refit in 2008/09 comprising of: a new engine, new Hundersted drive control with a variable pitched propeller for efficient fuel consumption and enhanced engine performance. There was also a complete refit of the interior soft furnishings and installation of new electrical equipment. The Hull and substructure were also repainted in 2008. Also, the vessel had all new electrical equipment installed in 2008. Over £800,000 was spent on this refit in the UK. The Captain oversaw all aspects of the refit with the owner to ensure that it was completed on time.

COMMENTS

 

MATAKAOMA is in superb refitted condition and is also the lowest priced JONGERT for her size and age and condition on the world market.   She benefits from several comprehensive refits and virtually every system aboard is new since 2008.  

 

Jongert is known for building quality Dutch sailing yachts that are extremely well designed and built. Doug Peterson designed the lines of MATAKAOMA and she is a good looking, practical and exceptionally comfortable yacht.  The 27m Jongert is designed for worldwide sailing with a large protected pilothouse in addition to dual aft steering positions. The equipment and systems aboard are all of the highest quality.  Her engineroom is immaculate and easy to work in and the new powerful Volvo diesel coupled with the Hundestedt Hydraulic propellor system allows her to power at idle speeds at 8 knots VMG. MATAKAOMA has benefitted from a significant refit in 2008/2009 in the UK to full service to her carbon mast, park avenue boom, new sails and new rod rigging.  All systems and machinery were removed from the engine room and replaced including main engine, generator, sewage system, chargers, water makers and additional systems.   Between 2009 and 2012 MATAKAOMA was unused sitting in Sweden. In 2012 her teak deck was replaced and she received a new generator and in 2014 she was completely repainted and her bottom sandblasted, recoated and ant fouled. 

 

MATAKAOMA is in superb condition and needs no investment to be enjoyed immediately. The offered price is the lowest on the world market for a Jongert 27m considering her refit improvements, low hours and present immaculate condition.
