Empacher 59 Ft Pilot House Cutter

In this 59 ft cutter Dieter Empacher created a yacht with an unusually high level of motion comfort, weather protection and safety - all qualities that help in making her a superb ocean / blue water cruising yacht.

Built for her present owners under Lloyd’s supervision, great care was taken by the designer, owner and yard together to create a yacht that tracks beautifully, is stable, strong, seaworthy, and comfortable in all weathers. The great attention to detail shows everywhere – from 33in high guard wires, MOB recovery steps inset into the hull, rolled edges to the superstructure, to a bow thruster designed to hold the bow in 30 knots of cross wind.

She is easily handled by a couple and yet with plenty of space and storage for a full family and guests to sail happily. The owners have cruised (entirely two handed) from Canada, south to the Caribbean and South America and later across to Europe. In 2001 the yacht was imported into the EU at the Azores and EU tax (VAT / IVA) was paid.

The yacht is well equipped and ready to be enjoyed by new owners.

ON DECK

A very secure cockpit with plenty of handholds provides an initial feeling of security. The cockpit helm is sheltered, but for really bad weather or night watches the pilothouse provides complete security.

The cockpit helm is raised just enough to allow vision over the pilothouse.  Seating either side of a central fiddled table is partially sheltered by the house overhang for comfort in bad weather, but provides a good outside cockpit area to enjoy as well.

A 3.2m RIB is stowed on deck aft of the cockpit when underway.  At anchor with the RIB launched there is a large sunbathing area.

There is a large forepeak with storage for fenders & anchor chain and a large
lazarette accessible by 2 hatches with storage for a mountain of spares, deck gear, fenders, warps, bicycles etc.
