Eisvogel is one of the “Windfall” yachts, she was built inGermanyas “Reiher” for the 1936 Olympics and requisitioned by the British at the end of the War. She was sailed to the UK from Kiel in 1946 and given a new name “Gladeye”.  Owners Comments If you are looking for a Classic Yacht to race this is the one. I have been an owner of this vessel for nearly 30 years, without doubt she is very fast, nothing similar in my ownership has even come close. Her racing history is certain proof, she won “A” Divison Class 1 in the Fastnet Race in 1955, she has won most of theSouthCoastraces in theUKand with me at the helm also won the cup in an RORC transatlantic,Las PalmastoBarbados. In a raceNewcastletoBremerhavenshe beat a sister ship (Identical hull) by 8 hours.
