Custom Sedan Cruiser - New arrival

SNAP DRAGON is a unique coastal and ICW cruiser designed by Craig Walters for his own use.

Mechanically simple and economical-to-operate, Snap Dragon requires a mere 250 hp to achieve cruising speeds in the comfortable mid-to-high teens and 20 knots top. Accommodations for two, occasionally four, in 2 bright, airy cabins are simple, practical and beautifully finished. Additional day passengers, or a crowd at dockside, can enjoy the comfort of an oversized, Bimini-shaded cockpit.

Walters built his reputation developing racing and performance cruising yachts with Morgan Yachts, Sparkman & Stephens and firms of his own in Florida and Connecticut. His designs such as the Holby built Clearwater 35’s and Lyman-Morse built Seguin 40’s and Monhegan 48, are characterized by clean lines, solid performance and innovative solutions. This sleek, smooth-riding motor yacht follows a similar approach.

Quiet, efficient and relaxing -- a real sailor’s motorboat – Snap Dragon turns heads in every harbor.

  •  A sailor’s dream cockpit: 8 ft by 8 ft with contoured, high back seating on three sides, custom seat and seat back cushions and grated teak table that can serve a large party, all shaded by a white Bimini.
  • Decking and cockpit sole are overlaid with tough, lightweight Marinedeck 2000 composite cork that is easy to maintain and far cooler to bare feet than teak.
  • Five latched lockers under the cockpit seats provide generous room for dock lines, power cord and adapters, cleaning supplies, lunch hook anchor, etc. plus a deep lazarette.
  • The swim platform is teak and equipped with a swim ladder.
  • The pilothouse/helm deck has 6 ft 3 in headroom, is light and bright with excellent all-around visibility and natural ventilation.
  • A custom sofa converts to a double berth is to port with two deck chairs facing. A carpet runner extends full cabin length. Two natural finish teak tables serve multiple uses.
  • Four floor hatches in the pilothouse to access engine; water systems, waste and fuel filters; starting and house batteries.
  • The helm station is located on the port side for improved safety navigating narrow inland water canals and channels. A sizable nav table to starboard has room for a ChartKit with plotter. The electrical panel and instrument controls are easy to see and reach immediately below. Both helm and nav seats are folding and adjustable cushioned benches.
  • Forward of the helm and down 3 steps, the main cabin with 6 ft headroom, galley to port, head and hanging locker to starboard.
  • The galley has 8 ft of Formica counter tops with equal length of lockers outboard. Included is a top-opening ice chest, deep Scandvik stainless steel sink with hot & cold pressure water, and a gimbaled 2-burner CNG stove with oven and custom teak cutting board. The galley has two drawers, 3 sliding door lockers and 4 hinged lockers with varnished caned faces for ventilation and a traditional appearance.
  • The queen V-berth, with shelves and open lockers on each side and hinged lockers. Four large compartments under the berth provide room for storage, as well as bow water tanks and thrusters. Varnished Cypress ceilings on the hull sides above berth.
  • At the foot of the V-berth a versatile bench seat hinges open to a large compartment ideal for storing tools, safety equipment or a weekend duffle bag.
  • A caned front hanging locker to starboard has a shelf above, a transverse hanger that extends inboard for easy access to apparel and hooks on the sides.
  • The enclosed head includes vanity sink, faucet that doubles as a shower with hot & cold pressure water, lockers below and outboard, 4 teak towel racks, and a Lavac vacuum-type marine toilet.
  • Bulkheads, overhead, drawers and lockers are painted white with Awlgrip. Hinged locker frames are also white with varnished caned inserts. Trim in cabin as in pilothouse is teak with satin varnished finish. The cabin sole is teak & holly plywood with gloss finish.
  • Anchor locker forward with interior access and ventilation.
