Cambria 44/46

There are many reasons so many Cambria owners have kept their boats for 15, 20 or more years. Quality design and construction are the key elements. Exceptional strength and comfort are combined with manageable performance and beautiful lines. Pegasus is truly a classic yacht that has never been chartered or sailed in southern waters. Although now 25 years old, her light use offers her next owners a high quality yacht that has fewer sea miles and lower engine hours than most yachts half her age.

Since delivery Pegasus has only been sailed summers in New England waters. Maine became the preferred cruising waters and for this reason the yacht has been stored indoors most winters and maintained by Hinckley in Southwest Harbor, Wayfarer in Camden, Maine and more recently by Quality Yachts in Tiverton, RI  . Over the years her owners have continuously upgraded the equipment, systems and interior decor. Highlights of improvements include new anchor windlass, electronics, sails, diesel heater, Ultrasuede fabrics, asymmetrical spinnaker, new autopilot, GPS, solar panels, both companionway dodgers and new hull and deck paint.

Added benefits of Pegasus are her keel board design that provides a shoal draft fin keel, and rudder that is fully protected by a rugged skeg. Cambrias are most often sailed by a couple. Pegasus has also been single handed many times. The centerboard is available for added performance sailing to windward however is seldom lowered because the Cambria is good on all points of sail with the board in the raised position.

Pegasus' interior arrangement sleeps six with maximum privacy for the owner within an aft cockpit design. The aft owner's cabin has a double to starboard and navigation center/work desk to port providing direct communication to the cockpit. The owner's aft head features a separate stall shower. A passageway galley is accessed from the aft companionway or a second midship companionway ladder. The engine is located under this companionway ladder. Forward of the galley is the comfortable salon, guest head and V-berth guest cabin.

All the woodwork is hand picked, light varnished teak. The cabin sole, which is totally removable, is solid varnished teak with light inlay. The interior hull sides are sheathed with teak battens (ceilings) which are set off the hull to provide ventilation. Lockers are wood lined with main hanging lockers lined with cedar. The overheads and under decks are white laminate.
