Vitters Cruising Ketch
Marie, is a sophisticated and distinguished sailing yacht which was built by Vitters Shipyard. She is a sister hull to the triple award-winning sailing yacht Adele. Vitters Shipyard, Hoek Design and David Easton were chosen by the owner to create this custom designed 180’ sensational performance yacht. The 180 ft. Ketch Marie has an identical hull, keel, rudder and sail plan to Adele but features a more open and airy interior and deck layout. Marie has a large main deckhouse and a vast forward deck which allows the entire deck and interior layout to be tailored to the owner’s taste and requirments. A considerable weight savings was achieved through the use of composite rigging and high modulus carbon spars, built by Southern Spars. The hull was constructed in Alustar to ABS and MCA specifications. Marie was delivered in 2010 and has cruised through the Med to the Pacific and back. She just won the coveted St. Barth’s Bucket Regatta and shall be cruising New England for the summer. Meticulous maintenance and constant upgrades to the sails and systems make her ready to cruise and to race to win! Marie is a very special sailing vessel that must be seen to be fully appreciated. Seriously offered for sale to allow the owner to pursue the next project. NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE OR CHARTER TO U.S. RESIDENTS WHILE IN U.S. WATERS WALK THROUGH Marie’s interior was designed by David Easton Design together with Hoek Design and features the renowned privacy concept. Traditional craftsmanship and modern technology are combined creating a fast, comfortable sailing yacht with a light, contemporary interior highlighted by nautical paintings, antiques, a baby grand piano and magnificent cannons. ON DECK The deck is expansive with a custom designed “in deck” cradle on the foredeck to store the tender while keeping a low profile when under sail. With the tender removed, the area is flush with the deck. Alfresco dining is also available on the foredeck. For that extra thrill, take a trip up the mast in the crow’s nest that holds two people for a spectacular view at over 123’ (37.5m). Aft of the main deckhouse is the large covered cockpit with cushioned seating and drink tables inside and additional seating outside of the cockpit. This spacious area is also used for dining on deck and has a large teak table and chairs for 10 guests. The deckhouse/upper salon has a bar on the starboard side and a comfortable seating area with table for 4/6 on the port side. Going forward one accesses the lower main saloon and aft there is a dayhead in the accommodations area. BELOW DECK Main Saloon Marie’s spectacular full width main saloon includes a baby grand piano that can be programmed to play with the music and the entertainment system aboard. The entertainment system includes a 52-inch TV. The wood in the saloon and throughout the yacht is Anigre which creates a warm, light atmosphere. Marie’s décor is accented with a collection of antiques and maritime art with many comfortable seating areas throughout. Dining Salon The dining salon has comfortable seating for 10 and can be enclosed for privacy. There is a magnificent central skylight which allows natural light into the dining area. VIP Stateroom Forward of the main saloon and opposite of the dining salon is the VIP with California King bed and a settee. Moving aft from the upper deckhouse are 2 Twin Guest Staterooms and the Master. Portside Twin Stateroom Twin beds with ensuite bathroom and shower, TV, Pullman Starboard Twin Stateroom/Convertible Twin beds convert to King bed. Ensuite bathroom and shower, TV, Pullman Master Stateroom The master stateroom is extremely spacious and very private. There is a California King bed on the port side and a comfortable sitting area to starboard. The forward end of the master offers His and Hers bathrooms – one with a steam shower and one with a tub. Aft of the Master is access to the private deckhouse with a desk and daybed. Further aft is the private Owner’s cockpit with a convertible teak dining/massage table.
